Heat-sealable sterilization films - for greater safety

Sterilization films offer a simple way to increase safety. Using them correctly prevents microorganisms from penetrating the sterilized packaging. This is done by wrapping and permanently sealing reusable instruments or other materials in sterilization films, followed by sterilization in an autoclave. In this way, they can be safely stored and transported until they are needed. This method ensures an effective barrier effect against harmful organisms and ensures maximum safety throughout the process.

Heat-sealable sterilization films have two different sides

The sterile barrier system consists of two different sides. On one side there is medical paper, while the other side is an impermeable film. Each side fulfills a specific function:
The medical paper layer plays an important role in steam sterilization. Water vapour can penetrate through the fine pores of the paper and sterilize the contents of the packaging. After the sterilization process, however, the medical paper prevents germs or viruses from penetrating inside.
Due to its transparency, the film side of the sterile barrier system allows the packaged contents to be seen at all times.
In addition, clear indicators are attached to the edge of the packaging to determine at a glance whether it is sterile or non-sterile.

A multitude of regulations...

...ensure safety for both the patient and the medical staff. Ensuring the cleanliness and sterility of any instruments or materials used during treatment is essential - we should all be aware of this. To ensure that these standards are met, there are a variety of regulations for monitoring the sterile packaging process and subsequent storage and transportation. The relevant standards include DIN EN ISO 11607, EN 868-5 and DIN 58953-7.
Wide range of sterilization films
It is entirely up to you whether you prefer prefabricated pouches or rolls - with or without gussets. If you always need the same packaging size, pouches are more practical: simply wrap and seal - ready for sterilization.
For reusable products of different sizes, we recommend the use of sterilization rolls. Here you can put together the packaging in the desired length yourself.

Seal sterilization films in accordance with regulations

In order to properly seal sterilization films, we recommend using our film sealers and continuous sealing machines with the "validatable" or "validatable sealing process" label. These devices are particularly suitable for sealing sterilization films in pouch or roll form. They monitor and document the parameters temperature, sealing time or throughput speed (depending on the respective device) as well as the contact pressure for the sealing process.
